Greetings Hawks,

After a week of time with my family we have hit the ground running this week. Badminton is taking off, the weather is warming up and our Grade 12's are starting to see the end in sight! Yesterday I met with the Grade Nine students to go over High School registration as they are getting ready to take that big step. Next Wednesday we will meet in the evening with parents to complete course selection!

Today, we finished the week with our Term 1 Honours Recognition Assembly. It was nice to take the time to recognize the academic work that our students have taken on in order to be either an Honours or Honours with Distinction student. We also took some time during the assembly to discuss the language we use with each other within the building and its impact, as well as to play a fun game with the winner earning some DQ Dilly Bars for their class.

Thank you for all that you do as families to support your children and for all of your collaboration with the school supporting success! It is truly appreciated!

Career Pathway News

Hello Hawks,

Every newsletter I'll post a few quick items regarding career opportunities and news.

If your High School child currently has a job and wants to do Work Experience, is interested in Green Certificate, or the Registered Apprenticeship Program please come and see me!

Also, Blackgold is hosting its second career fair next Tuesday, April 9 at LCHS. It will be happening from 1-5 in the main gym and foyer you can see the flyer below as well as another flyer about Careers in ICT! Have a look!

All school fees have now been added to the student's accounts. Please review your student's school fees in your PowerSchool Parent Account at https://powerschool.blackgold.ca/public Payments are required ASAP!

Payments that are not received before May 1st will be submitted to Black Gold School Division who will then submit them to a collections agency. If you have any questions or concerns about these fees, please contact the school for assistance.
