It is the time of year where we are doing planning for next year! A big part of that is knowing the number of students planning to attend next year. It is very helpful for you to let us know if your child will not be attending CSS next year. Please email Ms. Goldsworthy at kelly.goldsworthy@blackgold.ca with any information in this regard.

There is a familiar buzz about the school that comes at certain times of the year when anticipation is palpable. While this week's weather may point toward "fool's spring", next week's weather looks surprisingly like "real spring" weather! With the improving weather, I am seeing more students enjoying the sun outdoors at lunch and I am walking uptown to get nachos at Calmar Foods! This joy emanates into our building and brings light to everyone. Thank you for sharing your children with us!

The benefit of spending time outdoors was brought up recently when I attended uLead, an international conference in Banff focused on school leadership. It was made clear that nature is one of our main healing tools and one that we should all spend more time with. Several years ago I read an excellent book on the topic which you can see in the images attached. For those interested, it is an excellent introduction to the benefits of engaging with our natural world something I am happy to say I see in many of our students!

This weekend, I will be getting outside to ride my bike and maybe rake my yard! I hope that you get outside too, now that the snow has fled!

Mark your Calendar for the 2024 Skills Canada

Hello Hawks,

Calmar Sr high students will have another opportunity to attend a career fair at the Skills Canada Provincial Competition. At this event, students can observe and try over 80 different occupations. It will be on the afternoon of May 8, first come, first serve.

Stay tuned for the permission forms online.

Payments that are not received before May 1st will be submitted to Black Gold School Division who will then submit them to a collections agency. If you have any questions or concerns about these fees, please contact the school for assistance.
