As we enter into a season when, for many, gift giving is the norm, I am reminded of the importance of gift-giving’s sibling, gratitude. I suppose I am thinking about this as I reflect on how grateful I feel to have been welcomed into the Calmar Secondary School. Certainly a shift in school leadership is a stressful thing for everyone involved yet everyone has been so unbelievably kind in providing me grace as I have transitioned into the role. 

Of course a big part of the transition for me is learning about what makes Calmar Secondary tick and wow are there ever a lot of great things happening at the school. Some of you may know that I enjoy spending time in classrooms and it has been great to see students engaged with their teachers on a variety of topics. On top of that, there has been a fabulous production of Mean Girls, sports teams getting up and running with both school and community coaches, and wellness activities all this week punctuated in a school lunch today provided by the fabulous parent of School Council!

I am truly grateful for being able to join this community! I look forward to getting to know all of you as we work together to make sure our most valuable resource, our youth, finds happiness and success! 

This will be our last newsletter before the break so I want to wish you rest and happiness over it! I know I will be relishing time with my family! All the best!
