‘One Nation Reading Together’ Event
Reading not only has tremendous power when it comes to fueling the development of all aspects of language ability but also acts a pleasurable and new experience.To help underscore this point, on 24 January 2020, our school (St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School) in association with Scholastic India Pvt Ltd participated in their ‘One Nation Reading Together’ annual event, where children in schools across the country spent 40 minutes, reading for fun and participating in other activities that celebrate reading as a pleasurable and enriching experience. All the students as well as the staff members of our school dedicated 40 minutes reading the book of their choice. Students of classes 1 to 5 created posters emphasizing the importance of reading.
To teach the students importance of reading, our school (St. Mark's Sr. Sec Public School) invited a renowned author - Ms. Vaijyanti Tope . She shared her experience with the students and encouraged them to read. Also, a child was invited to read a story written by her.
