Archery is an individual sport and team sport at FIHS that competes at the state and potentially national level. Studens learn to shoot a bow and learn how to shoot competively both in Bullseye Competition and indoor 3D
In the 2025-2026 season team members Cillian, Joy, Ellie, and Jason all qualified for the State Championship. The club also more than doubled in size, set new team PRs, and tripled the amount of individual PRs
Why should people join archery?
¨People should join archery because it is a noble art that has existed for many years." - Alex Sullivan
What is your favorite memory in archery?
"My favorite memory from archery is shooting outdoors with my friends" - Victoria Ta
In a Bullseye tournament, archers shoot at a standard target from 10 and 15 meters. Points are scored across concentric circles: yellow (center) yields the most, followed by red, blue, black, and white. Each distance includes a practice round followed by three scored ends.
In 3D tournaments, archers shoot at animal targets from varying distances between 10 and 15 meters. Unlike bullseye targets, the "center" varies per animal as scoring rings mimic vital organ locations. Animal size dictates distance: smaller animals are placed closer, while larger ones are further away.
If you are interested in joining archery or need more information, email Mrs. Sudduth with any questions assudduth@greenville.k12.sc.us
The club meets on Wednesday in the morning in the aux gym.
