Fury Clubs & Activities

Fountain Inn High Clubs & Activities 2023 - 2024

Academic Team

Sponsor: Steve Lentz & Cale Bonner

Quiz bowl is a game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more.

The defining feature of quiz bowl is the use of a “buzzer system” that lets players interrupt the reading of a question when they know the answer. Those “tossup” questions are answered individually, but doing so earns one’s team a chance at a three-part “bonus” question. The academic team will compete in 4-6 tournaments this year. There is a $50 fee to join. The team meets on every Tuesday during FLEX and Thursday after school from 3:45-5:00 in Room 2308. Please contact Mr. Lentz for more information.
