Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Fountain Inn High School library is to foster a learning community that encourages students to love reading and creates lifelong learners, who are effective and ethical users of information and resources.
Library Vision Statement
The FIHS library strives to be a center of collaborative learning where students not only become lifelong learners, creators, innovators, and future seekers. This will be accomplished by collaborating with teachers, developing a collection that is representative of the community, and implementing literacy instruction for students.

Media Center Use (Individual Students)
Media Center passes are required during all class periods including lunch. No student will be allowed in the media center without a Media Center pass and ID. Passes to the Media Center during a student’s lunch period may be obtained prior to lunch from a teacher or the Media Center staff.
Students must follow these procedures to use the Media Center during instructional time:
• Possess a Media Center pass with student’s name, date, time, purpose of visit and teacher’s signature.
• Upon arriving in the library the student will scan student ID into Library Check-In and show pass to Media staff
• When finished with work in the library, the student will scan out of Library Check-In, and return to class before the end of the period
Guidelines
• No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the Media Center.
• Students must follow the Fountain Inn High School Chromebook Policies.
Inability or lack of willingness to follow these guidelines will lead to the following:
1st Offense- Leave media center for the day
2nd Offense- Call to parents
3rd Offense- Referral to an administrator
Circulation Policy
IDs are required to check out materials. All materials are checked out to students for three weeks with a $0.10 fine for each school day overdue. Materials may be renewed back to back once.
Students will receive overdue library material/fine reminders weekly via email. Overdue/fine notices will be printed and distributed the last week of each grading period. All library debt can be paid through My School Bucks.
Printing and Copying
Students are allotted 20 print credits each month at no charge. Unused prints will not roll over.
1 black printed page = 1 credit
1 color printed page = 2 credits
Additional print credits may be purchased at the cost of $1.00 per 10 credits
Media Center Programs
Students are encouraged to participate in Media Center programs such as book clubs, FURY Read promotions, Teen Read Week, Summer Reading and other library sponsored events and programs
