As part of our ongoing effort to provide a safe learning environment, all students and staff are required to wear a valid 2023-2024 photo ID badge. Students are required to wear their ID badge whenever they are on campus, on a field trip, or school function. It is expected that IDs be worn on a break-away lanyard around the neck and be visible at all times.
Students are provided one ID and one lanyard free of charge, annually. Replacement cost for a lost ID is $5. Replacement cost for a lanyard is $1. Students may use a lanyard other than what is provided by FIHS as long as it is break-away for safety purposes and does not have words or markings in violation of school disciplinary policies. ID badges are used to purchase lunch and check out media center books and textbooks. Lost, stolen, mutilated, or defaced ID badges must be replaced at the student’s expense.
IDs are checked upon entrance in the building and at the beginning of each class period. Students without an ID must purchase a new ID before school in the ID office. Students without an ID are not be allowed to attend classes, and students should be reminded that wearing an ID is not negotiable and that continued violations may affect participation in extracurricular activities and parking privileges.
All students are required to wear an ID in the building at all times for safety reasons. We must know who belongs in our building.
If a student does not have an ID and if he/she does not have $5.00 to replace the ID, the student is allowed to charge it to his/her ID debt list. Each student is required to pay this fee within 5 school days. Students who have an outstanding ID debt of $5.00 and wish to charge another ID are required to clear the debt before another ID is issued. Under circumstances when a student has a $10.00 ID debt (charging 2 IDs), the student will be required to contact parents/guardians concerning this matter.
A payment plan must be agreed upon by the student, parent/guardian, and an administrator to satisfy the debt (minimum $5.00) for IDs. The student may be given an ID payment plan form to be signed by parent/guardian and returned by 10:00 AM the day after the infraction. Another parent conference/disciplinary consequence may be scheduled if these requirements are not satisfied.
