FNaF World is a classic JRPG made by Scott Cawthon (Scottgames) featuring multiple characters and their varying versions throughout the games. A Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) is more cartoony whilst Western RPGs have a more gritty and dark art style. The gameplay is like that of the Final Fantasy series, or the Xenoblade games. FNaF World has a fun, kiddish style about it, setting it apart from the darker gritty other horror games of the series.
The ratings on FNaF World hold decently high, at about 6.5/10 on average according to game review website Metacritic, with ratings like “undeniably the [best] game ever. It confuses me how this game is so high and low quality at the same time” (Da_one23). “Fnaf world is good and takes a long time also you can mostly use any team you want to and there are like 9 trophies to get. Also the fact the final boss is scott is well brilliant because if he killed his creations everyone wouldn't ask him to make more games. Chicas magic rainbow is a good secret boss and her being defeated line where it says DIDNT YOUR MUM TELL YOU CAN'T KILL A RAINBOW is brilliant” (Aiden64). Both of the previously mentioned reviews are more on the positive side, with both rating the game a 10/10. However, for readers inquiring about the more negative ratings, there are plenty of those as well: “FNaF World is pretty bad. The battle system needs work and the game world isn't creative. The creator said he's making a 3d world though, and making it free. But, other than that, it feels rushed and Scott should've released it when he was 100% finished, not only 25%. I hope to see this game get updated to be much better. Also fixing the drought of content would be appreciated” (xxblonde_hairxx), and “That's just horrible. I can say that this game is sometimes really fun,but I can't ignore the fact that gameplay mechanics are stolen and stupidly incorporated” (FuriousAegon) are such examples of lower ratings, with the user blonde rating it a 4/10 and Furious rating the game a 2/10.
Stylistically, the game has standards to fill but also isn't exactly particular. However, such details can give it some charm. Its style is fairly simple; however neat it may look, a decent amount of people find it rather lackluster. FNaF World veers away from the main horror franchise of Five Nights at Freddy's. The typical FNaF game is dark, and eerie, with the main intent to scare players. With an overall different look, World takes this element to an entirely different plane, being happy and joyous. Similar to when a former gang rapper becomes a pop star or a comedic Youtuber becomes a sad song artist, not everyone is going to like the switch, with the exception of those who can find enjoyment in such titles. This game becomes one of the most fun experiences with its gameplay and challenging nature.
Speaking of the challenging nature, cultures form around challenges and obstacles in the game, pleasantly named Grind Culture. One such person assimilated into the group is Peter Easterwood, a face many in GP would know as a GPHS junior. When asked about his FNaF World grind, he said that it is “Crippling, it has been pretty sad… no more than pretty sad, really sad.” He gets really offended when newer players try and join the grind along with him, he can often be found saying, “You aren't even part of the grind, you’re more just idle sitting there, I've actually beat the game.” Why he gets so offended one can’t be sure; it could just be a part of the grind culture. When asked about his easily offensive side, he stated, “Yeah it is part of the culture, stupid…. Did you mention the dancy dances they do?”
Overall, FNaF World is a 7.8/10. The game is a little outside of what I would usually be found playing, so I may not the be best source for a good, filled quota; however, from an outside perspective, my personal review is that this game is goofy and fun to play but far apart from the rest of the franchise.
