Concurrent Enrollment

Why Councurrent Enrollment?

Concurrent Enrollment classes are a great way for students to earn high school and college credit at the same time.  Oftentimes, students can begin working on their college general education requirements and get ahead in their college credits while paying the CE price ($5/credit hour).  There are many opportunities and various ways students can earn concurrent enrollment credit.  CE classes can be taken at Skyline High School, at the GTI, or on the college's campus.

Certificate of Completion from SLCC

Salt Lake Community College offers a General Education Certificate of Completion.  Through taking CE classes and passing AP exams, students are able to complete the certificate while in high school.  All requirements for the certificate can be completed between Skyline High School and the GTI with the exception of the Lifelong Wellness requirement (can only be completed at SLCC).  Students are also welcome to complete requirements through the on-campus CE program.

A completed certificate is transferrable and will be valid at other colleges (exceptions apply).  Any college credits earned are also transferrable but may not be considered equivalent by other colleges.

If you have questions about the certificate or would like more information, speak to your counselor or to Mr. Scott in the Career Center.
