The Opportunity Scholarship
***Before Submitting your application for the Opportunity Scholarship, make sure you have completed every portion of the application and have sent in all necessary materials (high school transcript, college credit transcripts, completed the FAFSA application, etc.) prior to the deadline. Applicants will be denied the scholarship if the application is incomplete or not properly filled out.***
The Opportunity Scholarship
The Opportunity Scholarship is a statewide, achievement-based program that encourages students to complete advanced courses in core subject areas while in high school. The scholarship is available to all students who meet program and application requirements. The award is available for students to use at all public-funded colleges and universities within the state of Utah, as well as some private institutions.
Opportunity Scholarship Requirements
Complete three advanced courses (AP, IB, CE):
1 advanced Math class
1 advanced Science class
1 advanced English Language Arts class
Have a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA
Complete the FAFSA Application
Graduate from a Utah high school
The Opportunity Scholarship application will open January 2, 2024. There is a priority deadline of January 19, 2024, and a final deadline of March 20, 2024.
