SPANISH 1 (561600)

Length: Year Available for: 7th and 8th Grade

The purpose of our program is to develop the functional use of Spanish for communicative purposes. Our approach is one of meaningful interactions in Spanish, which is personalized and applicable to real life situations. Instruction focuses on the development and utilization of four skill areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students are evaluated on the standards of proficiency in each of those areas. The goal is for students to value and use their Spanish skills beyond the classroom. 

SPANISH 2 (561650)

Length: Year Available for: 8th Grade

Prerequisite: Spanish 1

SPANISH FOR HERITAGE SPEAKERS 1 (561900)

Length: Year Available for: 7th and 8th Grade

Prerequisite: Must be a native speaker or have equivalent DLI level. Must have functional use and knowledge of reading and writing in Spanish.

Spanish for Heritage Speakers 1 & 2 --Designed primarily to support heritage learners in their reading and writing skills, and as a byproduct, their speaking skills. The four types of academic Spanish that are explored are: academic language, daily language, technological language, and scientific language.

SPANISH FOR HERITAGE SPEAKERS 2 (561950)

Length: Year Available for: 8th Grade

Prerequisite: Spanish for Heritage Speakers 1

Spanish for Heritage Speakers 1 & 2 --Designed primarily to support heritage learners in their reading and writing skills, and as a byproduct, their speaking skills. The four types of academic Spanish that are explored are: academic language, daily language, technological language, and scientific language.
