AVID 7 (571010)
Length: Year Available for: 7th Grade
Prerequisite: AVID application
AVID 7 (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is offered as an elective course for 7th grade students that prepares them for entrance into four-year colleges and success in a global society. There is an emphasis on the AVID Elective Standards including student empowerment, writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, reading, advancing college preparedness, and building career knowledge.
Students wishing to join must successfully complete an interview with the AVID Site Team Coordinator (Mr. Dickison) or a current student in the AVID program.
AVID 8 (571020)
Length: Year Available for: 8th Grade
Prerequisite: AVID application
AVID 8 (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is offered as an elective course for 8th grade students that prepares them for entrance into four-year colleges and success in a global society. AVID 8 is a continuation of AVID 7, but students new to AVID can also join.
