Overview: Education as a subject always remained important in the Faculty of Arts. In 2020, the department of Education started BS Education to enable the students to compete new challenges of market in the field of education. Large number of students applied for admission. 50 students were selected for admission in BS Education on merit, which is one of the great achievements of this department indicating the effectiveness and efficiency of this department.
Aim & Mission: We aim to contribute towards the establishment of a knowledge-based economy with upward social mobility by producing reflective, critical and professional educators as well as managers who are academically sound, pedagogically skilled and responsive to the needs of youth and society in regional, national and global scenarios. Our mission is to develop prospective teachers having advance content knowledge and teaching skills with an insight of ground realities of local context to fulfil the needs of quality education.
The Department of Education aims to develop high quality and skilled manpower in the field of education. The main goal is to prepare human capital in the field of Education as teachers, educators, educational leaders and researchers. The management and faculty put great emphasis on highlighting new trends and key issues through co-curricular activities which are the prominent features of department performance.
The importance of Co-curricular activities cannot be denied. The Department of Education conducted orientation day to welcome new students. Varieties of teaching methods are used in the department to render different courses effectively. Faculty members arrange both inside and outside classroom activities in order to broaden the learning experiences of the students. Lectures, seminars, classroom quizzes and field-works are planned and conducted during the semesters. The department believes on both, the summative and formative assessment.
