Printmaking Studio

Printmaking Studio-Skill Builders

Objectives

  • explore how printmaking can be an avenue that they can use to represent their own identities and make meaning of what is important to them
  • deepen their understanding of how artists use printmaking as a means to convey individual, community/cultural, and national identity
  • use a combination of visual arts and language arts to create projects
  • contemplate how artists’ choices reveal some—but perhaps not all—aspects of their own identities

A. Choices: block print, mono print or lino cut. Screen printing is an option if you research the process and demo it for me before completing the project.

B. Planning: find images and sketch to develop ideas.

C. All printmaking supplies will be handed out.

*Images must be graphic - bold, thick lines!

If using words, they must be created backwards to get a successful print!

Upload progress photos and final photo to your digital portfolio on Friday.
