Change the layout (Google Meet)

  1. Join a video meeting.
  2. In the lower-right corner of the Meet screen, click More->Change layout.
  3. In the Change layout box, select the layout that you want to use on your computer.

Tip: Click a participant's image to pin them to the screen.

Layout options

  • Auto—Allows Meet to choose the layout for you.
  • Tiled—Shows up to 4 video feeds in equal size when there is no presentation. If there’s a presentation, it fills the window with up to 3 participants on the side.
  • Spotlight—The presentation, active speaker, or pinned feed fills the window.
  • Sidebar—You see the active speaker or presentation with additional participants on the side.

Change screen layouts in a meeting

Hangouts Meet automatically switches the layout in a video meeting to display the most active content and participants. You can switch to a different layout if you want.

Use captions in a video meeting

You can make it easier to follow what’s being said in meetings by turning on captions, which show text of the conversation.

Computer AndroidiPhone & iPad

At the bottom of the Meet window, click Turn on captions or Turn off captions .

You might have to click More first.

Tip: If the captions are covered by your call controls, click anywhere else inside the Meet window to dismiss them.

Adobe Flash

Fix Adobe Flash Problems in Chrome Browser or on Chromebook:

1. Type (or copy+paste)this into your address bar: chrome://settings/content/flash

2. Enable "Allow sites to run Flash".

3. Disable "Ask first". This is the most important step to this solution. If you leave Ask First enabled it will keep trying to download an swf file or fail to load the web content.

4. Close the browser and re-open
