GUSD Summer Thrive information
Summer Activities
New this summer, the GUSD Summer Thrive Camp program will have a focus of Social Emotional development and a secondary focus of Math & Reading support. Expanded Learning Assistants will guide/participate with their teams during academic support time, during 3 activity rotations per day, and during designated mindfulness activities, including Outdoor journals and closing circles. Assistants will support specialist providers during Nature, Art, Garden, Nutrition, Computer Science/Library & Community Fitness Support rotations while also supporting the embedded social-emotional learning.
Child:Staff Ratio
Adult led student groups of 10-15 students, 2 student groups per activity team.

Incoming 1st through 6th grade GUSD students (2023-24)
Cost
Parents have the option of two types of Summer Thrive program enrollment.
1) Scholarship Based (ELOP/ASES) Enrollment - for families that meet qualification guidelines only, not all families will qualify. Priority follows;
*Foster youth & Students Experiencing Homelessness,
*Families meeting ASES/ELOP Tier* guidelines (see below)
*funding provided through California Department of Education; ASES Grants and Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP)
*English Learners
There is no fee for scholarship enrollments. Scholarship spots are limited. Once all scholarship spots are filled a "wait-list" will be established.
