Nourishing Newark Grant
Newark is opening up its grant program to accomodate for those that are trying to increase access to food and produce fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs - that's what we have been talking about all year long. So let's take a look at some projects we can do to both help improve our school meals and get other students actually eat their school meals, while also helping our community.
We have an opportunity to submit meal ideas to Dr. Tonya McGill during the bidding process for the Newark Board of Educations school meals - this would mean that if we submit our ideas as soon as possible, we have the possibility that she will look over and try to incorporate our school meal ideas for the upcoming school year. Share your ideas by typing up your answers in this document.
Let's get to know Local Leaders a bit more and how we work on Climate Action on a local level. Check out todays PPT.
Getting to Know Dr. Tonya McGill & Food Services in Newark, NJ
During our meeting, we entered into the behind the scenes world of Food services in Newark, NJ and got to know our Food Services MVP, Dr. Tonya McGill a bit better. If you have not had a chance, take a look through the Powerpoint. What questions do you have for Dr. McGill? What can we ask her, that would help us make our school meals better?
