Evolution

This unit will be used to take an overview look at Evolutionary theory. We will present the studies of evolution that can be proved and discuss some of the debate that is out there today. The major goals for this unit are:

1. Describe the historical perspective of Evolution.

2. Describe natural selection.

3. Predict the effects of Genetics on Evolution.

4. Predict the effect of gene flow and mutations on Evolution.

5. Describe how adaptive traits affect change.

6. Calculate time tables using Hardy-Weinberg equations.

7. Predict evolutionary time frames using the fossil record.

8. Determine how common descent and descent with modification show up in the population.
