This unit will look at DNA and how it is designed and what processes turn it into the traits that make us. This will be right around the same time as the Genetics unit, in which we actually try to understand how they show up that way.
Here are the goals for the unit:
1. Compare and contrast DNA and RNA
2. Describe major scientific contributions to DNA research.
3. Model the structure of DNA.
4. Detail the steps of DNA replication.
5. Model the structure of RNA.
6. Compare the three types of RNA.
7. Describe the structure of transcription and translation.
8. Discuss the importance of protein synthesis.
