I am beginning my 23rd year of teaching (17 of them in Ashland). I have taught at Ashland High School, ACCA, Ashland Alternative School, Lucas High School, Crestline High School, and Bellevue High School. For most of those years I have taught Biology, but I am also certified to teach History, Career Based Intervention, and serve as a School Counselor. In my time at Ashland, I have coached soccer for 8 years (6 as JV coach and 2 as head coach) before having children of my own, and I was the advisor of Key Club for 3 years, a group that does community service in various forms.
When I am not in school, or doing school work, I spend most of my time helping my kids with their baseball, basketball, dance, or whatever else happens to be going on during that particular season. I also run marathons and other races that might look like fun.
I graduated from Ashland High School in 1992 before going to Wittenberg University to major in Biology (1996) and minor in Secondary Education. In 2005 I finished my School Counseling Master's Degree at Heidelberg College.
