"Fame! I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learn how to fly high!"
This class is designed for all levels to access a variety of musical theatre dance styles. Each week we look at the class as a mock dance call with the focus on performing the choreography you learned as well as technique. The goal of this class is to become more familiar with musical theatre dance styles and to learn and pick up choreography. This class will consist of a short warm up, a breakdown of the steps, and small group performances. This will be designed with limited space in mind and all choreography is adaptable to your comfort.
Tyler is an Actor and Teacher based out of Halifax with a BA in Theatre Performance and a B.Ed in Secondary Education. Most recently he Directed and Choreographed for the Merritt nominated new musical Firebird: The Musical. Tyler also had the pleasure of being a part of Assassins as John Hinkley with Whale Song Theatre where he also played Ted in Peter and the Starcatcher and Kurt Kelly/Ram's Dad in Heathers: The Musical. Tyler was a part of Legally Blonde: The Musical with Quick As A Wink where he played Warner. He also played the roles of Georg/Choreographer in Side-by-Side’s production of Spring Awakening. He often works as an instructor for Neptune Theatre School and he recently choreographed Rocky Lake Junior High's production of Mary Poppins Jr. and Dartmouth High School's production of Urinetown. While not acting, directing, or choreographing he is teaching drama and dance throughout the city. Up next for Tyler he will be performing in Billy Elliot at Neptune Theatre.
