Kindergarten Assembly
Last Friday, June 7, 2024, the kindergarten students amazed everyone during the primary assembly with their performance, showing what they had learned in the "Sharing The Planet" unit. The performance was divided into three groups—Water, Land, and Weather. The kids used hoops and gymnastic ribbons to make their dances more exciting.
The Water group, dressed in blue, waved ribbons to look like flowing rivers and oceans, showing how important it is to save water and protect sea life. In green and brown, the Land group used hoops to represent the cycle of growth and movement on Earth. The Weather group wore bright colours and danced energetically to show different weather patterns and how they affect our planet.
This time, the kindergarten students not only performed dances and sang songs but also took the risk to speak their ideas about the natural environment in front of the audience. Each child shared a small part of what they had learned, explaining why taking care of the Earth is important. This added a new and challenging element to their performance, showing how much they had grown in confidence and understanding.
Compared to their first performance in the first semester, the Kindergarten students were much more confident this time. Initially, many were shy and needed help from their teachers, but now they took the stage excitedly, performing smoothly and with big smiles. Using hoops and ribbons and speaking to everyone showed their understanding and incredible growth in confidence and teamwork. Overall, the performance was fantastic and a true celebration of their progress!
Kindergarten Class Party
After their amazing performance at the assembly, the kindergarten class had an awesome end-of-year party, and let me tell you, it was a blast! Imagine this: the classroom turned into a magical camping site, all thanks to the parents who went all out with a fantastic camping theme. A tent popped up in one corner, surrounded by a pretend bonfire crackling with warmth, and a small river made the room feel like a real outdoor adventure.
Now, what's a camping party without some classic treats, right? Well, the parents had us covered with heaps of yummy popcorn and marshmallows for everyone to gobble up. The fun didn't stop there! As the kids got cosy in their pyjamas (because what's camping without pyjamas, right?), they all gathered around to watch "The Lion King." Watching Simba's epic journey unfold on the big screen made the afternoon even more exciting.
It wasn't just the kids who had a blast. the parents and teachers also enjoyed the good time while sharing yummy foods and drinks. It felt like one big happy camping family!
But what made this party even more special was the awesome teamwork between the parents and the teachers. All year long, they’ve worked together to make every moment count for the kids. Their dedication and teamwork made everything easier and more fun, and we, teachers, are so grateful for their help.
So, here's to the parents who made this school year a success! Thanks to their collaboration and support, our kindergarten adventure was absolutely amazing!
SAFARI IN KINDERGARTEN
On June 10 - 11, the Kindergarten students showcased their dioramas of different natural environments to the primary students. Each child chose a natural environment they cared about the most, such as the ocean, river, pond, forest, savanna, desert, or polar regions.
Before creating their dioramas, the students researched and explored their chosen environment. They watched videos and read books to learn about the plants, animals, and unique features of each environment. This research helped them understand why these natural habitats are important and how they can be protected.
Once they gathered enough information, the children selected materials to create their dioramas. They carefully crafted their displays to include the elements they learned about, such as animals, plants, and geographical features.
This was their first time presenting in front of the older students, and parents were also invited to watch. The children were very excited to share their dioramas and talk about the environment they chose with the bigger kids. They felt proud and happy to explain their work and the importance of the natural environments they represented. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their knowledge and creativity, and they enjoyed interacting with the primary students and answering their questions.
