Global Jaya School Parent Association just held Teachers and Staff Appreciation Night on Friday, June 7th 2024. This fun and full of nostalgic night took place at the Multi-Purpose Hall, the event started at around 5 pm with DJ Raggil playing sets of oldie but goldie tunes to officially open TSAN 2024.
This year, the theme of Going Back to The 90s was chosen. Teachers and Staff came wearing 90s-inspired outfits, able to enjoy various refreshments that were a hit back in the 90s era, such as live cooking for Nasi Goreng Rawit Daksa, Mie Ayam, Crepes from D’Crepes, Hotdog Booth and Es Podeng from Artomoro.
Later, the night continued by showcasing many performances prepared by students from different year levels. There were dance performances from Year 3, Year 4 as well as from the Mini Spice Girls presented by Year 10, solo drum performance by Ruel Dhafin Rahardjo from Year 7, solo singing performances by Maria Nadindra Haribakti (Nadine) from Year 10, Diva Aurora from Year 12 with her beautiful voice was singing 90s hit love song; One Last Cry by Brian McKnight, and Byura from Year 4 was dedicating a 90s iconic song of Goodbye by Air Supply as an introduction for a heartfelt farewell videos for our dedicated teachers who are leaving Global Jaya School.
Furthermore, our very own Global Jaya School teachers and staff also participated in showing off their talents in a game called Karaoke Mic Drop 90s Version. Pak Aji, Pak Nanda and Pak Shane were singing their hearts out with 90s legends from Wonderwall by Oasis, More Than Words by Extreme and The Man Who Sold The World by Smashing Pumpkins. Kapok Band from the admin division performed a classic medley from Bon Jovi’s Never Say Goodbye with a special appearance from our Head of School, Pak Cory Carson. Ibu Muti from the Art Department danced flawlessly through the Spice Girls’s #1 90s hit: Wannabe. Then, Pak Nanda from the Religion Department sang his newest original single song called Losing Time that is now available at any streaming platforms.
The night went on with lots of prizes being handed out from this year's TSAN 2024 sponsors. Café D’Aurelie gave out ten sets of dine-in vouchers worth 500k rupiah each, Casa Cuomo Italian Restaurant handed out dine-in vouchers worth 1 million rupiah, Happy Dental Clinic with two sets of treatment vouchers worth 1 million rupiah each, Gabu Gabu Izakaya dine-in voucher worth of 500k rupiah, Twelve Chinese Dining gave out two sets of dine-in vouchers worth of 500k rupiah each and Sari Bundo bintaro had provide a 300k rupiah worth of dine-in voucher. Bag City also supported with a cabin size luggage and 2 Fanny Packs. A night stay vouchers were also given by Titik Dua Ubud and Portibi Farm.
The parents from all year levels of Global Jaya School also contributed to providing many prizes in terms of products. Year 11 had donated home appliances such as 32-inch and 42-inch Android TVs, Induction Cooker, Blender, Microwave, Vacuum Cleaner, Toaster 2 and Rice Cooker, as well as 10 sets of MAP vouchers worth 250k rupiah each. Year 5 had gave out the Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Gas Stove, Standing Fan, Electric Iron, Hairdryer and JBL Speaker Bluetooth. Along with Year 12, provided a Xiaomi Pad 6 and SmartWatch Band for prizes. All prizes were handed out to teachers and staff in a random number that was spun through 3 segments: Raffle Prize, Lucky Draw and Grand Prize.
It was a night full of joy, laughter, singing and togetherness. It was a perfect event, not only to celebrate teachers and staff who have been dedicating themselves but also to end the school year of 2023-2024 on a good and positive note.
