"Many voices, one song!" Our Reception students spent the term learning that tolerance isn't just a word, it’s how we treat our friends every day. They took charge of their learning by writing their own "Tolerance Song," sharing ideas, and finding the perfect harmony together. It was a proud moment of Reflection as they sang about kindness and respect. Watching our littlest Communicators find their voice is pure magic!
Kartini’s Day Celebration
Our Reception students had a joyful and meaningful celebration of Kartini’s Day!
The children came to school dressed in beautiful batik or simple kebaya, filling the classroom with vibrant colors and cultural pride. Through this special occasion, the students were introduced to the inspiring story of R.A. Kartini and her important role in promoting education and equality.
Throughout the day, the children participated in a variety of engaging activities. They watched a story about Kartini, helping them understand her life and contributions in a simple and meaningful way. The students also sang the song “Ibu Kita Kartini” together, building confidence and enjoying the spirit of the celebration. As part of their creative activity, the children made their own “Kartini fan.” They carefully colored their fans and pasted a picture of Kartini, creating a special craft to take home. This activity supported their fine motor skills while also deepening their connection to the celebration.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, expressive, and proud of their work. Through this experience, they began to develop an appreciation for Indonesian culture and the values that Kartini represents.
