Dear Global Jaya Community,
We continue to navigate our way through the many important milestones that make up a school year. Just this week, our Year 12 students finished their last full day on campus before departing for study week in preparation for their IB DP exams. This week, we also enjoyed a successful Arts Expo where our students showcased their many and various artistic talents with support from the Arts department and the Parent Association.
Looking forward to the rest of the school year, Global Jaya will continue to be a busy place, with many more significant events taking place. Our Year 10 students will complete their MYP eAssessment exams; Year 12 and Year 6 students will graduate; and our Year 5 students will take part in their Moving Up Ceremony. Before the school year ends, faculty will say farewell to leaving teachers, and we will wish departing students all the best in their new schools. This combination of tradition and ceremony will ensure we support and celebrate all members of the Global Jaya community. As such, everyone is encouraged to make the most of the remaining time left in this school year.
By the end of April we will begin our annual comprehensive school-wide survey. Key stakeholder groups, including students, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff, are invited to complete the survey, which is an important tool for data collection to sustain our ongoing school improvement journey. It has served as a consistent tool over the past 4 years and is aligned with WASC accreditation standards:
A. Organization for student learning
B. Curriculum, instruction, and assessment
C. Support for Student Social-Emotional and Academic growth
D. School Culture, Child Protection, and Parent / Community Involvement
This year, you will notice that the Parent Community survey has been shortened in length. We hope that by reducing the number of questions in the survey we will increase the number of respondents and the number of completed surveys. The survey data is essential to supporting our ongoing school evaluation, development, and improvement efforts, ensuring that we remain focused on increasing student achievement.
While each parent on file receives a link to complete the survey, only ONE is asked to be completed and submitted on behalf of the family as a whole. Please inform us if you encounter problems or do not receive the survey. Prior to emailing, please check the spam or junk email folders. If this does not resolve the matter, please send an email to headofschool@globaljaya.com to let us know.
For the next academic year, we are looking for your input for Coffee Morning topics to make sure we meet the needs of the community. We ask that you kindly complete this survey to share topic suggestions. The information you provide on this survey will help us prepare topics that answer the questions you have about Global Jaya School.
Kind regards,
Dr. Howard Menand
