COLORING CONTEST

This week we're partnering with Rollin' Smoke Barbeque in Anthony, Texas for an exciting COLORING CONTEST! Every student at Anthony can enter, and there will be some great prizes given away when all the entries have been received.

Do your best coloring. Now would be a great time to practice shading or other techniques you have been wanting to try to up your color game.

ALL COLORING CONTEST ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO MS. KANNARD BY THE END OF THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19.

IMPORTANT: Please put your full name (first and last) AND your grade/teacher on the BACK of your entry. Don't use marker, because it may show through. Pencil or crayon is fine.

Some things to try:

Shading - use more pressure for darker areas, lighter pressure for a lighter look! Using this technique can let you fade from dark to light, mix colors nicely, or add highlights or shadows. This darker/lighter shading is all about VALUE.

Mixed Media - try using a mixture of colored pencils, markers, and/or crayons if you want to add interest or contrast
