Week 8 | Q2

December 7 - 11

This Week's Inspiration

This week's inspiration is ...

SNOWMEN!

Since we are all feeling Winter's chill, it's the perfect time to craft creative snow people.

Think about the way a snowman is sculpted, how we accessorize with found objects, and how much joy a snowman can bring!

Pay special attention to the textures you create in your piece of art.

Art Words of the Week

snowman - a representation of a person made with compressed snow

texture - the way something feels or LOOKS like it feels

actual texture - surfaces that you can feel

implied texture - texture you can see, but isn't real

Your Art Challenge

Your Challenge this week is to create a snowman!

Here are some ideas:

Famous Snowmen: Be inspired by Frosty or another famous snowman.

Snow Scene: Don't just stop at one snowman! Create a whole scene starring snow people, snow homes, or even snow pets!

Found Objects Snowman Sculpture: Create a snowman with things you can find around your house or outside. You'll have to be really creative because WE DON'T HAVE ANY SNOW!

You can choose how you want to create your snowman art. Be creative and have fun experimenting with snowmen and texture in your artwork. Look at the samples below for more ideas!
