Students are introduced to the artistic thinking process based on NYS Learning Standards for the Arts. They are encouraged to experiment with a variety of media and techniques. Media may include drawing, painting, fiber arts, sculpture, and digital media. They will create one final artwork based on the assigned theme.
This is a quarterly class for students in 6th grade. Students are introduced to a variety of art and artists. They will explore a variety of media and techniques while developing skills in at least one area. Media may include drawing, painting, crafts, sculpture, clay, collage, and digital media. They will complete projects based on individual teacher criteria and apply creative thinking and problem-solving strategies in their approaches to artmaking.
