At George Fox, textbook adoption orders are managed through the Bruin Store (Follett) and submitted by the Graduate School of Counseling admin staff by the deadline set for each semester (April 1 for Fall, October 1 for Spring, March 1 for Summer.) Federal guidelines require that all textbooks be disclosed to students when they register for their courses, which is months prior to the start of the term.
The Bruin Store is an online store with a physical venue located at the Newberg Campus. Students can view the required and recommended texts through the bookstore link, or the GCEP course schedule at class.georgefox.edu (click "Access Textbook Information" from the top header)
Please be mindful to use all required texts during the course of your class. Due to CACREP accreditation standards and Federal textbook disclosure timelines, please use only the texts listed in the course syllabus and do not require additional materials that must be purchased by students.
Your first semester
Textbooks likely have already been adopted ordered for your course prior to you joining the GSC and a desk copy is available for your use from the department by emailing gscgradasst@georgefox.edu.
Additional required texts typically may not be added to the syllabus after the textbook ordering deadline, but you may add recommended/optional reading materials for your students. If you have questions, contact gscgradasst@georgefox.edu and your course lead.
Subsequent semesters
If you have a recommendation for textbook changes for a subsequent semester, please contact the lead core faculty member (course lead) noted on the master syllabus.
