English Language Arts 8 is a comprehensive course that integrates reading, writing, language skills, and speaking and listening. The class focuses on the storyline of each book, while building vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, and composition skills. Students are prepared for each chapter, and comprehension questions encourage them to think critically about what they have read and to identify important content in each story.
In reading, special emphasis is placed on analyzing the writer’s craft and structure, as well as refining skills in comprehension and summarization. The course is designed to help students become thoughtful readers, effective writers, and confident communicators.

Career pathways introduces students to the exciting world of career development and planning. Students will discover their unique interests and skills through self-assessments and explore a variety of career clusters and the education paths required for success. Along the way, they will learn essential job search techniques, build resumes, and set SMART goals to guide their future ambitions. Engaging activities and assignments help students connect their personal strengths to potential career opportunities. The course culminates in a final project where students present their chosen career pathways and action plans.
The course content is divided into eight Key Ideas, tracing the human experience in the United States from pre-Columbian times until the Civil War, with a focus on the significant people, events, and places. Throughout the course, students make connections across time to compare the past to the present.

Pre-Algebra (AKA 8th Grade Math):
Pre-Algebra prepares middle school students for success in Algebra 1 by reviewing operations on integers and rational numbers and introducing methods for solving linear equations, inequalities, and systems. The mathematical content in Pre-Algebra is intentionally presented from a biblical worldview. The desire is that students will grow in the knowledge of Christ, understand the applications of mathematics from a biblical worldview, and develop a greater desire to serve God and others.
Welcome to 8th Grade Earth Science, where students will embark on an engaging exploration of the living world through the lens of a biblical worldview. This course is designed to provide a foundational understanding of life science concepts while emphasizing the belief that God's creation is intricate, purposeful, and awe-inspiring. Students will develop critical thinking skills, scientific inquiry, and a deeper appreciation for God’s creative hand in all aspects of life. (Proverbs 3:19-20 & Romans 1:20)

Middle School Bible class provides students with a systematic study of the Bible and its major themes, guiding them to understand Scripture as a unified story centered on Creation, Fall, and Redemption. Students learn to use Bible study tools, such as cross-references and concordances, and develop skills in observation, interpretation, and application of biblical texts.
The curriculum covers key areas including an overview of the Old Testament, the life of Christ, and foundational Bible doctrines. Students are encouraged to see how the Old and New Testaments connect, and to apply biblical truths to their daily lives. Lessons emphasize the development of a biblical worldview, critical thinking, and the ability to explain and defend their faith in today’s culture.
Through activities, discussions, and Scripture memory, students grow in their knowledge and love for God, learning to live out biblical principles with character and purpose. The course aims to equip students for personal spiritual growth, informed discipleship, and effective communication of their beliefs to others.

In this 9 week course, students review the elements of art and principles of design. They will improve their skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, mixed media, and more. The students will learn and develop techniques to enhance their artwork, regardless of their starting point.
This course is designed for students and intended to be 9 weeks in length. The purpose of this course is to provide a foundation of knowledge, skills, and values necessary for the development of a physically active lifestyle. The course content provides exposure to a variety of movement opportunities and experiences which includes, Fitness Activities, and Team Sports. The integration of fitness concepts throughout the content is critical to student success in this course and in the development of a healthy and physically active lifestyle.
