Creative writing, emphasis on composing creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.
We will study the main genres of creative writing to prepare you to write fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
After we go over the genre characteristics and you have read several examples, you will have the opportunity to write an example of that genre. So--you will write a piece of creative nonfiction, a piece of fiction, and two or three poems.
Writing is a wonderful way to serve God! We will keep God at the center of our writing; “As writers, it’s our duty to portray God as His glorious living Self. Not a lifeless, fickle genie who’s best trait is being wise beyond human knowledge” Abigail Metzger.
