As a British Curriculum School, we follow the guidelines above with some adaptations to suit the international context of the school. Throughout the curriculum, we ensure inquiry-based learning, opportunities for STEAM, innovation, digital and creative technologies and traditional learning are interwoven through themes. This well-rounded and balanced curriculum ensures that our students are prepared for the next stage of their education. We also leverage the unique international context of Dubai and the UAE for learning opportunities in our enhanced curriculum model where The UN Sustainable Development Goals and our 'Real World Studies' offer play a key part in ensuring our curriculum is at the cutting edge of 21st Century learning. In addition to this, we are fully compliant with the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum expectations for the teaching of Arabic, Islamic Education, Moral Education and Social Studies.
The Foundation Stage
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) there are 7 main areas of learning which are broken down into 17 strands of learning. Children work within age-related expectations for the different areas of the curriculum, before achieving the Early Learning Goals at the end of Foundation Stage 2.
