Audio Recording

Record and Share Your Work in Google Drive

Some students in my class wanted to use our Chromebooks to narrate and record kids books that the elementary kids might read. Recordings will be shared through our school intranet so that students can hear stories being read to them while they peruse the books. Each book will include a QR code to the audio file.

Included in this Google Slide are tools and instructions for:

  1. setting up the recording station
  2. recording with online-voice-recorder.com
  3. finding, renaming and uploading the mp3 file
  4. sharing the file with me.

Check out the linked videos to help guide you through the process.

The fourth graders are learning a little about using audio recording tools, saving them to the computer and making them accessible to the ladies in the office so that they can play their prerecorded messages on the intercom. Aside from introducing these tools, which will need a little more practice, they get to practice before recording and they can hear themselves giving the announcements.

The web based tool we use is online-voice-recorder. It is super easy to use but doesn't have a lot of editing options, aside from removing the intro or the ending. Now you don't have to hear me countdown, 3 - 2 - 1. You will need to allow Adobe Flash Player, just click the banner at the top and follow the prompts, or reach out and I can help.
