Good evening to Glen Hills Middle School!
You might be wondering what we’re learning in 5th grade currently…
First up we have, reading. In reading Ms . Brown and Ms. O’Connor are teaching us about the American Revolution. We are reading and learning about what happened and what has changed today.
In writing, we are taking our knowledge from what we have learned about the American Revolution and making a slideshow. In our slideshow, you need to write about 3 powerful people, 3 lands that they battled at and an overview of the American Revolution.
Fun fact: Did you know that the American Revolution was the United State’s longest military conflict before the Vietnam War?
In Math we just finished Multiplying fractions. Now we're learning how to divide fractions. Many people in our class are already getting the hang of things and figuring out how to divide fractions. And we’re getting better and better day by day.
The next subject in 5th grade is Science.
In science, we just finished 2 different Zoo based projects. Ms. Rias' class did Zoobooks. Our Zoobooks we picked an animal and researched for animals that we picked. Then we created books to send to the younger grade. In Mr.Mclendon’s class they did dioramas based on the habitat that they picked. For example, the beach, Milwaukee, the rainforest and so on.
In Social Studies, We’re currently working on The American revolution. We are taking our knowledge from reading and writing and making a slide or a book out of it. For example some people are doing the Boston Tea Party and taking notes on it.
That's all our subjects in 5th grade!
