"Beyond the Classroom”- Students Led Clubs
GD Goenka Public School, Gurugram, has introduced an array of student-led clubs designed to cultivate leadership, creativity, and collaboration. These clubs offer students a platform to explore their interests in diverse areas, including debate, environmental advocacy, performing arts, coding, and entrepreneurship. Through active involvement in the planning and execution of club activities, students refine essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. This initiative not only enhances their co-curricular development but also empowers them to take ownership of their personal growth and leadership journey, fostering a spirit of initiative and responsibility.
Students of Classes XII-C, D, and E at G.D. Goenka Public School presented an assembly on “Digital Detox – Disconnect to Reconnect,” stressing the importance of real-life bonds over screen time. Through skits, dance, and poetry, they promoted creativity and mindfulness. Senior Headmistress Ms. Shikha Sharma encouraged reconnecting with nature. The event concluded with: “Log out, look up, live.”
GD Goenka Public School organized a Scholastic Book Fair on 2nd August 2025 to foster reading habits among students. The fair offered a wide range of books for all age groups, from fiction to knowledge-based titles. Students, teachers, and parents participated enthusiastically. The event successfully encouraged children to explore and enjoy reading beyond text. The fair proved to be an inspiring step towards nurturing lifelong readers.
In an interactive session, alumni guided Class 11 and 12 science students on balancing academics and extracurricular activities, managing time, and building resumes.They also explored promising careers in AI, data science, and electrical engineering. By sharing personal experiences and career insights, the alumni made students feel more informed and confident. The warm and approachable environment encouraged participation, making the session both informative and reassuring for future planning.
On 13th August 2025, around 30 students from Classes 6 to 8 of Shiksha Education Centre enthusiastically participated in the Anveshika Physics Bharat Yatra (APBY) programme, a pioneering national initiative led by NANI under the aegis of IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers). The programme aims to promote the “Joy of Physics” through hands-on, experiential learning in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.GD Goenka Public School served as the proud host of this inspiring event, providing a platform for students from various backgrounds, including those associated with NGOs, to explore the wonders of physics through engaging demonstrations and interactive sessions. The participants enthusiastically participated in the hands-on activities in various labs and also understood the concept of shadow, which was demonstrated through shadow theatre. Overall, the event left a lasting impression and was highly appreciated by all participants.
The E-Waste Innovation Challenge was held on 13th August 2025 at GD Goenka Public School for Classes IX–XI. Students from the four houses — Vivekananda, Radhakrishnan, Teresa, and Tagore — showcased creative fashion accessories and dresses made from e-waste. Presentations included innovative bags, skirts, jackets, and jewellery, highlighting sustainability and recycling. Judged on creativity, functionality, and environmental message, the event encouraged eco-friendly innovation. Radhakrishnan House emerged as the winner, impressing with their unique designs and strong sustainability pitch.
On 19th August 2025, an orientation session on the UniVariety platform was conducted for Grade XI in their respective classes by Ms. Sai Pujitha from the UniVariety Team. The session familiarised students with tools for academic and career planning, including Alumni Connect, college shortlisting, and application preparation. Students were guided to create accounts, explore features, and interact through Q&A. The orientation proved valuable in promoting mentorship, networking, and informed decision-making for their future growth.
The final round of Cycle-2 of the Inter-House Competition was held on August 27, 2025, with enthusiastic participation from all four houses. Showcasing talent in sports, performing arts, and quizzes, events included Tables Turn, Cyber Guardians, Math Maze, and What’s the Good Word. The performances reflected creativity, intellect, and team spirit, while the cheering audience of students and teachers added to the lively atmosphere, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition throughout the event.These competitions embody unity, creativity, and perseverance, leaving lasting memories while inspiring students to pursue excellence with passion and determination.
GD Goenka Public School, Sector 48, Gurugram, hosted its Scholastic Award Ceremony on 28th August 2025 to honour academic excellence, perseverance, and discipline among Senior Wing students. Awards for Scholastic Excellence, Roll of Honour, Appreciation, and 100% Attendance celebrated achievers from Grades 8–12. Special recognition was given to board toppers. Graced by Principal Ms. Anuradha Handa and Headmistress Ms. Shikha Sharma, the event reflected the school’s vision of nurturing lifelong learners with values and passion for excellence.
GD Goenka Public School celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2025 with great enthusiasm, honouring the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The event paid tribute to his extraordinary skills and achievements, which continue to inspire athletes across generations. Students participated in various sports activities and educational sessions highlighting Major Dhyan Chand’s contributions to Indian sports. The celebration fostered a spirit of sportsmanship and motivated students to excel in athletics, keeping the legacy of this sports icon alive. May his legacy motivate us to pursue excellence in sports and promote a healthier, and an active lifestyle.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the students of Grade 12 at GD Goenka Public School presented a special assembly titled “The Golden Era of Television – Time to Relive.” The program was imbued with nostalgia, evoking warmth, laughter, and heartfelt sentiments as it paid tribute to the timeless television shows that shaped the childhood years of their teachers. The students brought these memories to life through engaging performances inspired by classics such as Dekh Bhai Dekh, Vikram & Betal, Chitrahaar, and Khichdi, delighting their teachers with a journey down memory lane.
The celebration concluded with an inspiring address by Principal Ms. Anuradha Handa, who commended the originality, sensitivity, and dedication demonstrated by the students, while also appreciating the collaborative spirit of the teachers in bringing the occasion to fruition.
A creative workshop titled Symphony of Self was held on September 9 & 10, 2025, for Grade 9 students in the MP Hall and Conference Hall, led by counsellors and special educators. Through activities like Colors of My Mind and Draw the Beat, students explored emotional expression, stress relief, and creativity. Conducted during exam season, the session received enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, highlighting its effectiveness. Future workshops were recommended to further support the student’s well-being.
GD Goenka Public School proudly hosted the Final Presentation of the Competency Building Program on 5th August 2025. The grade 12 students pitched innovative business models before esteemed judges. Winners were Fash Flix (Group 5) and Retrofit Home Solutions (Group 8). The judges applauded students’ practical foresight and originality.The event celebrated creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial excellence.The event concluded with encouragement to pursue innovation beyond the classroom.
