At G D Goenka Public School , Sector 48 , Excellence is a journey, a mindset, a way of life . The Goenkans are nurtured in a caring environment and equipped with skills for life. Over the years they are trained to develop an approach and attitude of continuous improvement, resilience and to always give their best in all situations and circumstances. A strong value system , problem solving approach, ethics, determination to strive for the best and ‘never giving up spirit’ makes the Goenkans ‘Change makers’ and strong future leaders.
During this academic session , the focus is to further strengthen in our Goenkans the qualities of resilience , persistence, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to growth.
The academic session commenced with warmly welcoming the Goenkans to their new class and this was followed by the model assembly presented by the teachers on the theme for the session ‘Excellence – a way of life’ . The Goenkans were taken through detailed subject narrations as part of the school's philosophy of empowering all stakeholders and ensuring that we all walk together - knowing the way and going the way.
Parent Orientation sessions, Class inductions for parents were organized in the month of April for parents of classes III to VIII . Parent teacher meeting gave an opportunity to the parents to connect with the class teacher and understand the academic plan for the session.
In these two months , middle wing has been buzzing with activities and competitions.
The Middle wing Goenkans presented ten special assemblies in April and May 2025, participated in intra- house and inter – house competitions , enthusiastically participated in a range of club activities, Value Education sessions , Art integrated learning activities, Stem based sessions by ICT 360 , Stemplify , Makerspace , Go sharpener workshops and several sports and activity skills training sessions.
Extended Sports Training Programme in the morning hours for sports training and sports trials had enthusiastic Goenkans participating with love for sports.
The theme for the Skill training sessions during COEP –Centre Of Excellence Programme 2025 was “Navigating Volatility– Adapt, Grow, Lead.” This five day immersive summer camp was designed to nurture curiosity, equip them with skills to handle challenging situations and difficulties.
We are sure that this dynamic learning environment of the school will make them Future Ready and ensure that they make a difference with their positive outlook and growth mindset.

The Orientation Day for new admissions was more than an introduction—it was a purposeful beginning. Spearheaded by the school leadership and enriched by the Headmistress’s insightful address, the session offered parents a deep dive into a learning environment that values innovation, excellence, and empathy. From ICLP to Makerspace and Harmony, the school’s unique programs were highlighted. The event built trust, inspired confidence, and aligned families with the institution’s vision of nurturing responsible, future-ready global citizens.

Familiarization Day 2025–26
April 1 marked more than just the start of a new session—it welcomed new admissions into a world where education is innovation and learning is a lifelong pursuit. The Familiarization Day offered students and parents a glimpse into the school’s vision, curriculum, learning spaces, and values-driven culture. Interactive classroom activities, a guided tour of academic and co-curricular zones, and sessions with faculty created a warm, informed, and inspiring introduction. Designed to ease transitions and spark confidence, the day laid a strong foundation for meaningful engagement, empowering learners to thrive from the very first step.
PATHWAYS TO PURPOSE
On 2nd April 2025, the first Middle Wing Model Assembly set a powerful precedent for the year ahead. Curated and presented by teachers, the session was a compelling showcase of discipline, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence. Through reflective thoughts, news updates, a motivational talk, and a stirring theatrical presentation, the assembly echoed the school's commitment to meaningful learning. Led by the Headmistress Ms. Shalini Tandon and addressed by Principal Mrs. Anuradha Handa, the event redefined assemblies—not as routines, but as moments of transformation and purpose.

At the beginning of every academic session, subject teachers take students through detailed subject narrations, providing them with a comprehensive overview of each subject’s essentials. ONE COMPETITION AT A TIME
On 4th April 2025, the Inter-House Competitions for Classes VI–VIII were officially launched, igniting a spirit of enthusiasm and healthy rivalry. Students were given a clear insight into the range of competitions across Sports, Literary, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology. They were guided on selecting one competition per term, allowing them to explore interests and showcase talents. With wholehearted participation and excitement in the air, the stage was set for a vibrant year of creativity, collaboration, and spirited excellence.

On 05 April 2025, the Class VIII Orientation marked a pivotal moment in shaping future-ready learners. Led by the Headmistress, Ms. Shalini Tandon, with the guiding vision of Founder Principal Ms. Anuradha Handa, the session outlined the academic year’s roadmap and ethos. Parents explored interdisciplinary strategies, met faculty, and understood the transition into senior school. The day also featured an orientation session for Class VI parents, offering insight into the academic journey ahead and the school’s vision for holistic development. Guided by the visionary leadership of Principal Mrs. Anuradha Handa and Headmistress Ms. Shalini Tandon, the day reaffirmed the school's dedication to forward-thinking education.

On 12th April 2025, the Class VII Parent Orientation offered families a meaningful glimpse into the year ahead. Anchored by the guidance of Headmistress Ms. Shalini Tandon, the session highlighted the shift in academic expectations, growing responsibilities, and the school’s commitment to nurturing independence and resilience in middle school learners. Cycle 1 of House Competitions for Classes VI–VIII began on 23rd April 2025, setting the stage for an energetic showcase of talent and house pride. In sync with The Bard’s Fest, events like Twist-a-Tale (English), Fusion Band (Music), Swimming, and Badminton brought students together in spirited participation. An Intra-House poster-making contest honoring Shakespeare’s legacy added artistic depth. With competitions continuing on 7th and 21st May, students embraced every opportunity to express, compete, and collaborate with passion.
TAGORE HOUSE TRIUMPHS IN HOUSE COMPETITIONS

The results for last year’s House Competitions were declared with much excitement—Tagore House emerged victorious, celebrating a year of excellence, teamwork, and unwavering spirit. THE BARD'S FEST
A CELEBRATION OF SHAKESPEARE
The Bard's Fest was launched on 23rd April, celebrating the timeless legacy of Shakespeare. The festivities included the Inter-House Twist-a-Tale competition, Intra-House contests, and numerous class activities designed to honor and learn about the great playwright. The corridors came alive with Shakespearean quotes from his famous plays, creating an immersive environment where students could engage with his works in creative and meaningful ways. The event ignited enthusiasm and sparked a deeper appreciation for Shakespeare’s enduring influence.

As part of the ongoing celebration of The Bard’s Fest, an Intra-House Shakespearean Poster Making Competition was held on 7th May for students of Classes VI to VIII. The creative corridors of the middle school wing came alive as enthusiastic participants showcased their talent and deep appreciation for the timeless works of William Shakespeare. With vibrant colours and thoughtful imagery, the students painted vivid interpretations of Shakespeare’s most iconic plays, characters, and themes. From Hamlet to Macbeth, The Tempest to Romeo and Juliet, the posters reflected not just artistic flair but also a growing understanding of the Bard’s literary genius. The competition successfully brought literature and art together, promoting Shakespeare’s novels in a visually engaging and intellectually enriching manner. The creativity and spirit of the young Goenkans truly transformed the corridors into a gallery of Shakespearean legacy.
PARTNERS IN PROGRESS: STRENGTHENING THE STUDENT PARENT-TEACHER BOND
The Parent-Teacher Meeting for Classes VI to VIII, held on 17th May 2025, served as a valuable platform for one-to-one interaction between parents and teachers. This collaborative forum allowed for meaningful discussions on each student’s academic progress, classroom behavior, and overall development.
Teachers shared their observations, highlighting strengths and areas of improvement, while parents provided insights from home, creating a comprehensive picture of each child’s journey. The PTM reaffirmed the importance of working as a team—school and home—towards the shared goal of nurturing confident, responsible, and well-rounded learners.

THE GRACIOUS GOENKAN PROGRAMME
NURTURING VALUES, INSPIRING CHARACTER
The Gracious Goenkan Programme, is a thoughtfully designed initiative aimed at nurturing well-rounded individuals by promoting core values such as kindness, empathy, responsibility, and integrity.
As part of the first cycle for the academic year 2025–26, students of Classes III to VIII engaged in a meaningful self-evaluation exercise during the zero period. This reflective activity encouraged students to assess their behavior and growth over April and May, while also responding to thought-provoking questions designed to deepen their understanding of gracious conduct. The programme fosters self-awareness and motivates students to become more mindful of their actions, both inside and outside the classroom. Teachers play a pivotal role in this journey by guiding students through the evaluation process and thoughtfully shortlisting those who exemplify the qualities of a Gracious Goenkan.
Together, through reflection, recognition, and reinforcement, we strive to instill values that will help our students grow into compassionate, respectful, and responsible citizens.

A thoughtfully curated art workshop was conducted by the students of Class 7 for their juniors in Class 5. The session provided an engaging platform for the younger students to learn the art of card-making in celebration of Mother’s Day. Guided by their seniors, the students enthusiastically expressed their creativity while developing a meaningful connection across grades. UNLOCKING GLOBAL VOICES INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH SKILLING AT ITS BEST

Embracing this vision, GD Goenka Public School, Sector-48, Gurugram, recently launched the International English Language Skilling Program for students of Grades V and VI — a dynamic step toward nurturing confident, articulate global citizens.
Helmed by Ms. Sanjana Seth, a distinguished UK-based educationist and Managing Director of Augment London, the program brought a world of experience into our classrooms. With over 30 years of global experience, Ms. Seth conducted interactive sessions in the school’s IT labs, focusing on vocabulary, grammar and spoken English through engaging, collaborative activities.

On 25th April 2025, Class VIII F delivered a compelling assembly centered on perseverance and the value of unseen hard work. The session began with a unifying prayer and School Anthem, followed by a powerful skit on Dr. Kalam’s journey. Students highlighted the importance of dedication and resilience through their reflections and an energetic dance. The Headmistress’s concluding words reinforced the lesson: true success is shaped by consistent, silent efforts, encouraging all to embrace challenges with confidence and resolve. These assemblies provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and build confidence.

“Discipline and consistency are the cornerstones of success” – this powerful message was at the heart of the assembly presented by Class VII-C. Through dramatized scenes, thought-provoking thoughts, yoga presentations, poetry, and an engaging quiz, the students beautifully showcased how historical legends like Lord Rama and Arjuna, modern leaders like Sundar Pichai and Droupadi Murmu and even futuristic challenges in the machine era all point toward one truth – only through discipline and sustained effort can true success be achieved. The assembly resonated with the school’s vision of nurturing responsible, well-rounded individuals.
THE POWER OF GROWTH MINDSET
Class VIII-H conducted a thought-provoking assembly on "The Power of Growth Mindset" on 9th May 2025. The presentation began with a prayer and an inspiring thought of the day, followed by a news podcast and a feature on a young achiever. A dance performance and a self-composed poem beautifully depicted the strength of perseverance and learning from failures. The Headmistress appreciated the efforts and encouraged all to embrace a growth mindset for lifelong success.

With creativity and conviction, the students of Class 6E explored how passion fuels purpose and excellence shapes achievement. From a nostalgic Doordarshan-style news report to the original skit “The Compass Within,” the assembly brimmed with energy, introspection, and inspiration. Affirmations, multilingual thoughts, a poetic “Mirror Moment,” and a vibrant quiz show brought the theme alive. The showstopper? A high-voltage dance performance and powerful closing poem.

A signature Goenkan summer experience, it empowered students to grow, express, and lead—with joy, purpose, and pride.
