KARYSSA COOK
What's up, Grants FFA?! My name is Karyssa Cook, and I am the current Grants FFA Chapter President. I am a senior at Grants High School, and I have been in FFA for three years, entering my fourth year as one of the last remaining chartering members of Grants FFA. I grew up showing livestock and being around big animals; agriculture has always been a part of my life. With FFA, I participate in livestock judging and the employment skills LDE, and I have held leadership roles for a long time, including serving as chapter vice president and currently serving as a district officer. As president this upcoming year, I hope to serve as an amazing leader and get to know everyone better while learning more. Thank you for the opportunity to serve this year, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for us!
SOPHIA LARRY
Hi, my name is Sophia Larry. I'm a 12th grader this year, and I'm serving as your 2025-2026 Vice President. I joined FFA in my 10th grade because I had nothing to do, and my mom encouraged me to try something new. Since then, I have fallen in love with FFA. I participate in CDEs, such as Floriculture and Horticulture, along with LDEs, including Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Agricultural Communications, and Job Interview. My SAE is creating floral arrangements and selling them, as well as maintaining people's yards. I plan on pursuing a career in ornamental horticulture after high school, and maybe one day own my own floral shop! This year, I plan to serve my chapter to the best of my ability while offering my support. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as an officer this year!
JEWELS PRADT
Hey, Grants FFA! My name is Jewels Pradt, and I’m excited to serve as your 2025–2026 Chapter Secretary! I’m currently a junior, and I proudly come from both Acoma and Laguna Pueblos. I originally joined FFA in my freshman year because I thought it would look good on my transcript, but it has become so much more than that! I was nervous walking into my first meeting, but I’m so glad I stuck with it. FFA has helped me grow in ways I never imagined. For my CDEs, I currently compete in Floriculture, and after spending two years in Wildlife, I’m considering exploring Nursery/Landscape next. I also compete in Agricultural Communications and Employment Skills. As for my SAEs, my first involves working on my family-owned ranch, where I help with branding, animal health, and feeding horses. My second SAE focuses on caring for my plant collection by watering, cutting, and propagating it. After high school, I plan to attend NMSU to study photography, architecture, or plant sciences, although I’m still figuring that out. This year, my goal is to inspire new members by sharing my own FFA journey. I also want to use this opportunity to strengthen my Indigenous roots and show others that everyone has a place in FFA. I’m so excited to serve and grow with all of you this year!
MONIKA RUIZ
Hello, Grants FFA! My name is Monika Ruiz. I am a sophomore this year and serving as your chapter treasurer! I first joined FFA because of one of my friends who was in FFA. Once I moved to High School, I entered my first agricultural class. I now participate in Creed Speaking, both English and Spanish, and Employment Skills for LDEs, and participate in Livestock Judging for CDEs. My SAE involves caring for and feeding small animals for friends and family. This year, I want to support anyone who wants to participate and remind people that FFA has a place for everyone!
JADYN GARCIA
Hello, Grants FFA! My name is Jadyn Garcia, I’m a junior, and I’m honored to serve as your Chapter Reporter for this year. I joined FFA to do something that would motivate me and keep me active as a person. Initially, I was nervous and confused about what FFA was, but I soon learned a great deal. I have participated in Floriculture and Landscape Design for CDEs, and I compete in Employment Skills for LDEs. I also have a plant-based SAE project. As an officer, I want to continue challenging myself and supporting our younger members. I support all members and am committed to helping everyone in FFA. Thank you! I will do my best to accomplish even more this year! Wishing everyone the best!
MATTHEW SANDOVAL
Heyo everyone. My name is Matthew Sandoval, and I'm honored to serve as your Chapter Sentinel this year! I'm a junior in high school. The reason I joined FFA was that I wanted to do something worthwhile in high school while we still had the time. A friend convinced me to join, and I can say that I greatly enjoy FFA. I have participated in both Horticulture and Landscape Design CDEs. My SAE is a reasonably small-scale project, where I grow flowers together in a homemade bed to observe how they interact and how to treat and care for them properly. I have no specific plans for college, but I hope to pursue a career in psychology as a therapist or counselor for others. I hope to be someone you can rely on, both physically and emotionally, as I will show all the support I can for each of our chapter members, even though I don't come from an agricultural background like some of my peers. Thank you for your time and patience. I hope that we all have a fantastic time together!
