There are three phases to Matchmaker. After each phase of questions, you will see suggested career matches that get further refined the more questions you answer.
This is usually the starting point when anyone starts building their profile in Xello. But, you can reset and redo Matchmaker at any time. In fact it's recommended that you redo Matchmaker every year at least. As you can imagine, you might not answer the same way in grade 12 as you did in grade 7 - and that affects what careers Xello suggests for you to investigate!
What are you good at? What skills are you working on? What interests you? Xello provides you with the tools to answer these questions in one place, to help guide your pathway planning.
Log in to Xello, click on About Me, and scroll down near the bottom of the About Me page to update your profile. It only takes a few minutes to get started, and a few minutes every now and then to keep it updated.

Keep track of your work, volunteer, education, and life experiences and view them all on a timeline. Starting adding to this section, and you might be surprised to see how much you've already accomplished!

Students in Grades 7, 8 and 9 will complete a series of 4 lessons in Xello over their school year - see below for a list of the lesson topics. These interactive online lessons are tailored to individual students, and help them to develop the skills, knowledge, and self-reflection to make informed decisions about their futures. While students are given time and support to complete these lessons in class, they are welcome to jump in and complete them at any time.
In grade 10, students will revisit some of these lessons and more, and develop a in-depth profile in Xello as part of the compulsory grade 10 Career Studies course. In grades 11 and 12, students will continue to explore and refine their choices in consultation with Guidance and classroom teachers to develop their post-secondary plans.
The links take you to the Xello support page with more information about each lesson.
The lessons themselves are accessed through students' Xello accounts - the lessons for their grade are listed prominently on their Xello dashboards in the order they need to complete them.
