Want to take your time? Or spend less time away from home?
Some of you need to stay home more due to different reasons. You may have someone to take care of at home. Your job may not allow you to take much time off from work. You may only be able to take one or two courses each semester. This is a sample format you can follow. There are some other possible variations.

Summer II 6 credits; 2 weeks on campus
ASL 743 Curriculum Development for Sign Language Instruction
ASL 750 Assessing Sign Language Skills
Fall II 4 credits; 100% online
**ASL 752 Sign Language Practicum
ASL 761 Seminar: Professional Preparation
Spring II 4 credits; 100% online
ASL 762 Seminar: ePortfolio
**ASL 790 Sign Language Teaching Internship
***In addition, you have a total of 12 required online electives (can be taken during the fall/spring semesters).
*ASL 709: Candidates with extensive media, film and editing experience may apply for Sign Language Media Production waiver. This waiver will reduce the number of weeks on campus from 3 weeks to 2 weeks.
**ASL 752 & ASL 790: Candidates with extensive ASL teaching experience and/or full-time employment in the ASL teaching field may apply for a practicum and/or internship waiver.
***Space in required online electives courses are not guaranteed. See below "Deaf Studies Courses" section for more details.

Space is not guaranteed in DST courses during the fall and spring semesters. Please contact the coordinator of the Deaf Studies Master program to inquire about space in the courses and for permission to be added into DST courses.
