We provide online and onsite tutoring for summer hybrid courses. To request for tutoring during the online portion of the course, click on below to fill out the online form.
While onsite courses are in session, tutors are available in person Sunday through Thursdays from 5:30pm to 10pm (and some weekends) at SLCC 3102, the ASL & Deaf Studies Classroom, Lab and Studio.
We also provide online tutoring throughout the fall and spring semester. To request for tutoring during the these two semesters, click below to fill out the online form.
Your request will be forwarded to the tutors on our roster and one of them will be in touch with you as soon as they're available - usually, they would get in touch immediately to make an arrangement with you.
What is tutoring? Tutors will provide content, organization and grammar "guidance" for your assignments. We will give advice, suggestions and tips on how to improve your assignment.
We will not "edit" your work. We will not provide translations from English to ASL. We will not make your assignment perfect. You are in graduate school to learn how to improve and become better, and not to have someone else do your work for you.
Please remember: We are human, just like you. Every piece of work can always be improved, revised, and made better. Do not expect one "round" of feedback will be enough. People publish their work after about 1,000 rounds of feedback and editing! :)
For each time you need tutoring, you need to fill out this form. Yes, this may feel redundant, however, we need to keep track of how many requests we are getting, and for what exactly, so we can plan better for future semesters. Your patience is appreciated.
Tutoring services are open Mondays through Fridays, during business hours. So when you fill out this form, we'll immediately forward your request to our tutorial team, and one from the team will reach out to you. Keep that in mind if you fill out this form in the evening, or during the weekends, your request will not be forwarded to the tutorial team until the next business day.
For editing and proofreading, as well as content development, we highly recommend contacting Deaf owned business - such as T.S. Writing (tswriting.com) and The Manualists (manualists.com).
