GRADUATE SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for the M.A. in Sign Language Education must complete the application procedures and meet the requirements for graduate study at Gallaudet University. Visit the Graduate Admissions website for more information and a checklist of application requirements. Detailed program information and course descriptions are also available in the Graduate Catalog.
Applicants are accepted in the program on a first-come, first-serve basis, which is also called "rolling applications", as the program responds to applications on a continuing basis. So, the earlier you apply, the better your chances are!
Please complete the four requirements as outlined on the Graduate Admissions website:
- Online graduate application and $75 application fee.
- Goal statements (scroll down to "Prepare Your Goal Statement" and upload your goal statements via Self Service Center.) Also, please see this web page under the "Sending application materials and checking the status of your application" section for how-to.
- Please provide names and email addresses of three references.
- Submission of all official postsecondary transcript(s)

After completing the four requirements above, please complete our online pre-recorded video interview.
- WePow Video Interview - check your email for the link to the interview.
The interview contains questions in American Sign Language and typed English. You will be required to provide answers in ASL and English, depending on the question.
This process will take at least 30 minutes to complete. Be sure to complete this in a secure location, with reliable high-speed internet connection, and good lighting/background.
