Union Market is literally across the street from Gallaudet University. This is known as Gallaudet Community's favorite place to grab food, meet up for a coffee, a meal, and more.
H Street Corridor is several blocks away from Gallaudet University and this street is known for Gallaudet Community's favorite locations such as restaurants, bars, fitnesses, grocery stores, and more.
Tired of Union Market and H Street? Want to do a quick shopping and grab a munch? There are plenty of vendors for you to shop and eat. Hop in Gallaudet Shuttle Bus with your friends and go there for lunch or dinner.
Eastern Market is known for Farmer's Market every weekend on Saturdays and Sundays along with Capital Hill neighborhood's delicious offerings.
The historically African-American neighborhood, Shaw, has varies good places to eat and drink. Run on either 90 or 92 Bus at the front gate and they will take you there - straight on Florida Ave.
Georgetown is a spectacular place to sightsee, shop, eat, drink, and more. It's even better as there is a “cupcake street” along with three famous cupcake brands - Georgetown Cupcake, Baked & Wired, and Sprinkles. YUM!!
It is a multicultural neighborhood centered where you can find restaurants with different cuisines from Falafel to Mexican to Ethiopian to Japanese. This location is also where jumbo pizza slices are.
Dupont Circle is a northwest neighborhood, in between of Adams Morgan and Georgetown. This district is where you will discover bistros, bars, boutiques, and more.
Chinatown has approximately 20 authentic Chinese and Asian cuisines and a variety of other restaurants ranging from casual eateries to fine dining.
Schedule a visit to several Smithsonian Institution Museums during weekends. They're educational, inspiring, fascinating, and stimulating. The best part, free admissions! Most of them are locate around the famous National Mall.
There are other more fascinating museums in D.C. that are not under Smithsonian Institution. Some of them are free admission, however, there are some that have the admission fees. Advanced admission tickets are required for these two museums; National Museum of African American History and Culture and US Holocaust Memorial Museum
You just cannot come to D.C. without seeing the famous Capitol Hill, Monuments, and the National Mall. Hop in Gallaudet Shuttle Bus to Union Station then walk a mile to the Capitol Hill. Or ride on a bike around for the day.
There are several different monuments across in D.C, such as Washington Monument, Martin Luther King, Jr., and more.
The National Mall includes Capitol Hill, Memorial Parks, Monuments, and Smithsonian Institution Museums. If you plan your day right, you'll be able to visit a museum, a couple of monuments, gardens, and more.
Navy Yard is the place where you go to the Nationals Washington Stadium for MLB games. This area has many different restaurants and the Yards Park pool to cool off.
In mood for a movie and popcorn (and a glass of wine)? Angelika Pop-Up is only a five minutes walk away from Gallaudet's campus and they do offer open captions showtimes.
It is a perfect place to go out and enjoy the summer breeze. There are restaurants, shopping district, events and more. Also, you can enjoy a ride on the different wheel ferries!
Penn Quarter & Chinatown is a great place to hang out - it has authentic Asian cuisines, Capital One Arena (sports & entertainment complex) shopping district, and a movie theater.
Need a nature fix? There are plenty of great parks with beautiful landscapes to hike in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
