Victoria + Jerry's Story

In the summer of 2011, we were both hired as Jumpstart peer counselors. We hit it off as friends. We found it easy to talk to one another, and laughed a lot. We even gave each other dating advice. Shortly after that, Jerry asked me out, but I said no! I wanted to keep boundaries at work. A year later, he asked again and this time I said yes. He took me to the lovely Botanical Garden near Union Station for our first date. The rest is history! Ten years later, I couldn’t have asked for an amazing partner, travel mate, doggy coparent, film fanatic, spontaneous partner (enough to elope on a mountain in Colorado) -- countless memories. I’m so grateful to Gallaudet for being the magnet that drew us together.
