Janet and Michael's Story

We met when Mike entered Gallaudet in 1976, and we would have good chats from time to time. After December 31, 1980, we became close and the rest is history! Actually, we have our fractured and broken bones to thank for that! What happened was that I had a hairline fracture on my pelvic tip from a car accident in November 1979, which meant I had to take my comps later in December 1980. We had a chance encounter in the HMB hallway where Mike was hopping around in crutches and a full leg cast as a result of a broken ankle from playing basketball earlier in the month, which meant he had to postpone taking his final exam. I then asked Mike to go to a New Year's Eve party. To my surprise, he accepted!
