Marissa and André's Story

I brought my GameCube video game console to Gallaudet University to meet people. I made a friend who told me that I needed to meet this other CODA who also loved gaming. One day in the cafeteria, that same friend asked me to join his table full of people. It was there that I was introduced to the other gamer CODA, who is now my fiancé! 

We found out that we shared many interests. One night, I took him to an off-campus Burning Man party in D.C., which required him to be completely out of his element, including dressing up in wacky clothing. He took it all in stride. It was there that I knew he was the one for me. It is amazing to be with someone who already signs, who grew up with Deaf culture, and the had CODA experience too. Gallaudet University was the start of our journey together.
