Judith and Philip's Story

We met informally during the first semester of our freshman year as we shared some of the same classes. During the holidays, she visited a friend in the New York City area where I lived. A Gally friend of mine and I invited her and two of her friends to tour NYC and attend a New Year's Eve party. At that party, we noticed more of each other and began dating in the spring of 1963. 

The courtship continued until our graduation in 1966. To save some money, Judy worked in DC at the Library of Congress, and I was at an insurance company in Hartford, Connecticut. We got married in August of 1967 and now have three grown children and twelve grandchildren. Our three children and their spouses are alumni of Gallaudet as well! Many of our relatives and their spouses are also alumni.
