The Sailing Angels Foundation offers free sailing excursions on a daily basis for education, respite and recreational therapy. Originally serving individuals with cognitive challenges, physical challenges and life threatening illnesses, we have since expanded our reach to include those suffering from severe traumatic experiences and socially challenged children.
The SOAR program was created to be all inclusive and provide a recreational outlet to children with neurological or physical disabilities. SOAR stands for Success and Opportunity Achieved through Recreation. This program allows children of all disabilities to participate in the sport of gymnastics as an individual or in a group setting.
Houston’s Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park is unique in the United States, offering an eight-month season of professional entertainment that is artistically excellent, culturally diverse and always FREE of charge to the public. A pillar of SMG’s Outreach since 2003, our Special Needs Screenings are designed for families raising children with special needs. Special Needs Screenings are shown with the lights up and the volume lowered and children are free to move around, talk, or even dance in the aisles during the movie. The sensory friendly screenings are free for children with special needs and their siblings. Adult tickets are available at before-noon price. Showtimes can vary by location. Parental guidance is suggested.
