A limited number of scholarships are available to students in the Department of Arts Administration.
Students in the BA in Arts Administration (major or pre-major). Awarded students must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Priority is given to incoming freshmen. The maximum annual award is $1,500.
Students in the MA in Arts Administration. Awarded students must have and maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Priority is given to incoming students. The maximum annual award is $3,000.
Students in the PhD in Arts Administration. Awarded students must have and maintain a 3.75 cumulative GPA. Priority is given to incoming students. The maximum annual award is $4,500.

The purpose of the Arts Administration Scholarship is to recruit and retain students that bring the most to the University's graduate program and who demonstrate the ability to make a difference in the field of arts administration. Established in 2013, the Michael Braun Endowed Fund provides a cash award for students in the University of Kentucky's Department of Arts Administration. As the Director from 1995 to 2013, Michael Braun provided the vision and leadership for the Department of Arts Administration. The Michael Braun Endowed Fund was created to honor Professor Braun's dedication and service to the program and its students.
Awards of up to $1,000 each will be awarded to students in the BA or MA program who wish to enhance their educational endeavors by participating in activities that enrich their knowledge of the arts administration profession or field. This includes but is not limited to a study abroad program, an internship, a research or capstone project or conference attendance.
Eligible applicants:
Student in the BA in Arts Administration program at UK with junior or senior standing; or
Student in the MA in Arts Administration program who has completed a minimum of 9 credit hours.

Awards of up to $500 each will be awarded to students in the MA or PhD program who wish to enhance their educational endeavors through travel to professional arts-based conferences. Awards may be given to current MA or PhD students for presenting at a professional conference or conference attendance. Preference is given to those presenting at conferences.
In order to be eligible, students must:
Be enrolled in the UK MA or PhD in Arts Administration program;
Be currently enrolled in UK arts administration courses;
Have completed a minimum of 9 credit hours; and
Have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.
Application
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Applications should be submitted a minimum of 30-days prior to conference dates. Awards will not be given retroactively.
BA and MA students who wish to study abroad in a Department of Arts Administration-sponsored program, may apply for an Education Abroad Scholarship to cover the expenses of travel to the study abroad location. Students must be currently enrolled in the BA or MA in Arts Administration and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (BA) or 3.5 (MA).
Education Abroad Scholarship Applications are due on March 1 for summer programs.

The Department of Arts Administration is pleased to announce the availability of full-time or half-time Teaching Assistantships for graduate students in the MA or Phd in Arts Administration.
There are two types of Teaching Assistantship Positions:
Full-Time Teaching Assistant: 20 hours per week, 2 courses, 100% of tuition, $14,540 annual stipend. Full-time TAs may not have outside employment per university regulations.
Part-Time Teaching Assistant: 10 hours per week, 1 course, 50% of tuition, $7,270 annual stipend.
MA in Arts Administration students must be able to commute to Lexington and be on campus to assist in face-to-face undergraduate courses.
PhD in Arts Administration students can either be on-campus in Lexington to teach face-to-face undergraduate courses or, if they have a master's degree in arts administration, they may teach an online course in the MA degree program.
Assistantships are awarded competitively on the basis of the applicant’s academic record, professional promise, training, and experience. To be eligible for an assistantship, applications for graduate admission must be on file for each applicant. To receive an assistantship, students must be admitted to MA or PhD in Arts Administration. Teaching Assistants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester. Previous teaching experience is not a requirement.

A letter of interest (1-2 pages) in which you discusses any teaching or related experiences and why you are interested in being a TA in the Department of Arts Administration; and
Your resume or CV.
Teaching Assistant Applications are due on April 1 for priority consideration. If positions remain available, applications will be accepted until June 1.

In keeping with the mission of the College of Fine Arts, limited funding is available to encourage quality student research/creative activity and appropriate travel as they embark on their professional careers.
Funds to facilitate an invited presentation at a professional conference.
Funds to facilitate any aspect of the research for, writing of, and completion of a new scholarly or creative project.
Funds to attend a professional conference during the final year of a student’s degree program.
Funds to help underwrite study abroad experiences.
Students who have been formally invited to a conference.
Students who have a research/creative project that merits financial support.
Students who wish to attend a professional conference without an invited presentation. Degree must be completed within 12 months of the use of funds.
Students who are registered to participate in a college credit earning study abroad experience.
Rolling throughout the year, but a minimum of six weeks before the funds are to be used
All amount levels represent individual student support.
Invited presentations: Up to $500
Research/creative projects: Up to $300
Professional conference travel: Up to $150
Study abroad travel: Up to $150
