AAD 399 Learning Contract (On-Campus Internship)

AAD 399: Arts Administration Practicum is a university-based hands-on learning experience mentored by a university faculty or staff member. Practicums must be supervised by an Arts Administration faculty member. One credit hour is equal to 50 work hours.  A maximum of 2-credit hours of AAD 399 can be applied towards a student's required 6-credits of internship hours. This is a controlled enrollment course and a completed Learning Contract is required. The following learning contract MUST be completed and signed by all parties before the first hour of work is completed. Before you begin completing the Learning Contract, you need to have your internship location and work assignment, approved by the Internship Coordinator or the Director of Undergraduate Studies. AAD 399 is pass/fail option only. The course may be repeated to a maximum of four credits.

AAD 499 Learning Contract (Off-Campus Internship)

All students in the BA of Arts Administration are required to complete 6-credit hours of internship by enrolling in AAD 499: Arts Administration Internship. Students must complete their internships at two different organizations. Each credit hour of internship is equal to 50 working hours (6 credit hours x 50 = 300 internship work hours). One internship MUST be completed at a nonprofit arts organization. The other may be completed at a for-profit arts organization such as a record label or radio station or a nonprofit organization (not arts-related). The following learning contract MUST be completed and signed by all parties before the first hour of work is completed. Before you begin completing the Learning Contract, you need to have your internship location and work assignment, approved by the Internship Coordinator or the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
